Our Vision

We believe that cycling and walking are fundamental parts of healthy and environmentally sound communities. The Interurban Trail between Shoreline Edmonds, Lynnwood and Everett is an under-appreciated and under-valued asset to promote transportation and recreation. The Interurban has the potential such nearby trails as the Burke-Gilman, Sammamish River and Cross Kirkland.

But in order for the Interurban to reach its true potential, it should have virtually no segments in which riders and walkers are diverted onto busy streets.

Bridging WA State Route 104 - as well as addressing other barriers such as 164th Street SW, Maple Road and 128th Street SW- is an important step in making the Interurban Trail a continuous, car-free route between N. Seattle and Snohomish County.

Our Mission

North Sound Bicycle Advocates’ mission is to encourage cycling for transportation, exercise and recreation; and to promote government policies tto will make cycling (and walking) safer and more inviting for all people to enjoy.

“…we believe that trails can connect everyone, everywhere, and that every person deserves access to free, accessible and safe places where they can walk, bike and be active in their neighborhoods..”

What We’ve Achieved

Since September, 2023, we have conducted seven separate site visits to the Interurban Trail for elected officials and city staff to see our project could be realized.

We have been meeting with officials to gain support for a collaborative effort among multiple jurisdictions to fund a design & engineering study - the first step in moving the concept of a safer crossing of SR 104 forward.
